LEVEL DESIGN – Portfolio Project

A tactical shooter map I built in UE5 Lyra. I built a tactical FPS template and then created this map to showcase my level design skills.

The map is a simple, and clean map inspired by CounterStrike and Valorant maps. The “de” prefix in the name stands for defusal, and is used in Counterstrike maps.

My goal for this was to create a clean map blockout/layout that I could see being played in both Valorant and CounterStrike.

I recreated many sections from maps that I think work very well, and maps I enjoy. For example some parts of the layout resemble the Counterstrike map Cache. I also added verticallity similar to the Valorant map Split, and inspirations from Nuke (CS). I also added a teleporter just like the map Bind (Valorant) which I plan to improve by blocking out a teleporter room.

Currently if you download the game, the gameplay experience is Deathmatch/FFA, but the map was designed around the classic spike/bomb diffuse mode from current tactical shooters.

I utilized a free FPS/Lyra plugin I found on YouTube for this project, but created my own custom game mode, and edited the existing lyra weapons to create a tactical FPS experience.
